This?
In the story of the rich young ruler, Jesus looks at the man and loves him.
Then He names the one thing shaping how he sees himself and his future.
The man had done many things well. He was serious about obedience. He had built a respectable life. Over time, something he held tightly began to shape how he understood his security and his worth. His success and his résumé of obedience became the lens through which he saw his life.
When Jesus speaks, He uncovers what stands in the way of freedom. The very thing the man trusted to secure his life was actually keeping him from it. Jesus invites him to loosen his grip, not to diminish him, but to lead him into a richer life than he could build for himself.
That invitation still stands. Freedom grows where trust replaces control and where generosity opens what fear tries to close.

Throughout the life of our church, there are ordinary and meaningful moments where the image of God becomes visible:
• A child learning to trust Jesus.
• A student finding steady friendships.
• A meal delivered during a season of illness.
• A Sunday gathering where someone feels seen for the first time.
These are discipleship opportunities.
This month, we invite you to sponsor specific spaces where that formation takes place. Each opportunity in these pages represents a real moment in the life of someone in our church. Your generosity creates room for those moments.

Church Life at West Bowles Community Church is about caring for people, building authentic community, and walking alongside one another through every season of life. Sponsorships help fund gatherings, care resources, hospitality, and practical support so that no one is overlooked and everyone has a place to belong.
Next Gen at West Bowles Community Church supports kids, students, and young adults from kindergarten through college as they grow in faith. Through age-appropriate worship, learning, and shared experiences, these ministries build lasting relationships. Sponsorships help cover key costs like curriculum, supplies, transportation, and meals, making Next Gen accessible and sustainable for the next generation.
